The company, which is based in India, has said that it is expecting sales of the drug, Diflucan, in the US in the fourth quarter and for the second quarter, from the generic version of the drug.
Sales of the drug, which is also known as Fluconazole, have jumped 7 percent, the company said on Thursday.
The drug, which is sold as Diflucan and Fluconazole, has been made available in the US since May 2018 and is the first treatment approved in the US to prevent and treat serious infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhea.
The drug is not approved for use in children under the age of 8, and has been found to have the potential to cause serious health problems in older children. The drug is not indicated for use in children younger than 8 years old.
The FDA has granted the company a licence to sell a generic version of the drug, called Zithromax.
